On 16 September 2026, the Network for Integrity convened its plenary meeting in Rome, gathering integrity authorities from across Europe and beyond for a day marked by high level debate, technical insight and renewed institutional cooperation.
Two technical panels framed the day’s discussions, offering a sharp focus on priority issues for anti corruption bodies. The first examined the evolving landscape of whistleblowing, from legislative reforms to the conditions needed to strengthen institutional trust and ensure effective protection for reporting channels. The second turned to conflicts of interest, highlighting new approaches and practical experiences in prevention and management. Contributions from Members of the Network enriched both sessions, generating concrete takeaways and a shared understanding of emerging challenges.
Governance developments shaped the second half of the meeting. Ms Evgjeni Bashari, General Inspector of the High Inspectorate for the Declaration and Audit of Assets and Conflict of Interests (HIDAACI) of Albania, formally took over the Presidency of the Network for the 2026-2028 term, concluding ANAC’s tenure.
Members then proceeded with the vice presidential election. Mr Viktor Pavlushchyk, Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) of Ukraine, was elected by acclamation as the sole candidate.
The plenary closed with a strong sense of momentum and shared purpose, reaffirming the Network for Integrity as a dynamic forum for cooperation, expertise and collective action in the global fight against corruption.
