The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission is Korea’s national anti-corruption body, responsible for fighting corruption and addressing public complaints and administrative appeals in order to protect people’s rights and interests, and to help build a fair and transparent society.
The Commission was launched on February 29, 2008 by the integration of the Ombudsman of Korea, the Korea Independent Commission against Corruption, and the Administrative Appeals Commission.
With the consolidation of these three organizations, citizens are provided with a one-stop service for submittingpublic complaints, filing administrative appeals and fighting corruption in a speedier and more convenient manner.
The ACRC overhauls legal and institutional frameworks to offer a more convenient and efficient public service , resolves people’s grievances as swiftly as possible, and spreads a culture of integrity in order to create a more advanced society where civil rights are fully respected and where therule of law is abided by.
“The ACRC is deeply committed to promoting the rights and interests of people and to realizing a trusted government in order to bring them happiness and build a fair and transparent society. To this end, the ACRC spares no effort to protect the rights and interests of the people from illegal or unjust administrative measures. We will make constant efforts to enhance transparency and integrity in the public sector and society as a whole. We will also improve unreasonable administrative institutions.”
