According to Article 14 of the Network for Integrity Charter, the Presidency is entrusted to one of the Network’s full/effective member institutions, represented by its chairperson or a delegated official, for a two year mandate. At the conclusion of this term, the Vice President automatically succeeds to the Presidency.
In line with these provisions, the Italian National Anti Corruption Authority (ANAC) – elected Vice President in May 2023 – assumed the Presidency on 9 December 2024. Due to the closure of the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data of Mexico (INAI), which had held the Presidency since 2023, ANAC took office earlier than originally foreseen.
ANAC will serve as President for the full 2025-2026 term.
The handover was formalised during an online meeting, during which President Busia presented ANAC’s Action Plan for the two year Presidency. The Plan is structured around four strategic pillars:
- Development of a shared public integrity strategy
- Strengthening of internal and external communication
- Exchange of experiences and best practices
- Expansion of the Network’s membership
