The Conflict of Interest Commission initiates proceedings and deals with cases of conflicts of interest in the public sphere. It makes decisions regarding possible violations of the provisions of the law on the exemplarity of public officials. It also gives opinions at the request of officials when they question the conformity of their conduct with the principles of the public service. The commission also develops guidelines to effectively prevent conflicts of interest.
In terms of cooperation, the Commission works with the competent authorities to implement the law. It also cooperates with non-governmental organizations and is engaged at the international level by working with similar bodies in the field of conflict of interest prevention.
The Conflict of Interest Commission is composed of the President and four members. They are elected for a five-year term and may not be elected more than twice.
